There are some people who talk a lot, and some who do a lot. And then there are those selfless souls who do a lot and, as a result, change things for the better on this planet. Meet Rescue Ink, a group of like-minded individuals who are making a difference playing by their own rules... because those of society can sometimes stand in the way of true justice.
According to the official Web site, "you've never met a rescue group like Rescue Ink—an army of tattooed, motorcycle-riding street guys who have zero tolerance for animal abuse and neglect." Today, they are one of the premiere animal rescue groups in the world, fielding 200 to 300 phone calls a day. People from every state in the US, as well as a number of other countries, call to report cases of neglect, abuse, or torture of innocent animals, and the guys either respond themselves when they can, or through the powerful network of friends they've gathered the world over.
Now meet Joe Panz, a cigar-smoking native of Queens, New York, who started this gallant assembly of heroes six years ago. Motivated by the appalling acts of cowardice he saw going down on his turf, he gathered friends from various local neighborhoods, and the now internationally lauded rescue group was formed. At first it was a side venture, something Joe just felt that he needed to do. But word travels lightning-fast on the streets; the floodgates opened and this thing quickly consumed his life. Panz and his brave buddies from Brooklyn, Queens, Ozone Park, and Howard Beach are real-life tough guys; if you're low enough to harm an innocent animal, the last thing you'll ever want to see is this army of inked-up do-gooders at your door.
